- Pray for schools, colleges, and universities as classes begin.
Pray, as a new school year begins, for protection over the minds of our children. Pray for
righteous teachers and curriculum. Pray for an end to teachings that attempt to steal the
innocence and the identity of our children. Stop those sent by Satan to rob, kill, and
destroy our youth. Pray for the Holy Spirit to blow through our schools and fill our
children with life.
Proverbs 22:6 – “Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he
will not turn from it.”
Isaiah 49:25 – “Yes, captives will be taken from warriors, and plunder retrieved
from the fierce; I will contend with those who contend with you, and your children
I will save.”
Joel 2:25 – “I will repay you for the years the locusts have eaten, the great locust
and the young locust, the other locusts and the locust swarm, my great army that
I sent among you.”
- Pray for restoration and safety from Hurricane Ernesto.
Pray for Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands as they recover from winds, heavy rains,
and flooding from Hurricane Ernesto this past week. Also pray for the safety of beach
goers over the next few days along the United States eastern coast as the storm may
cause life-threatening surf action and strong rip currents.
Psalm 46:1 – “God is our refuge and strength, a tested help in times of trouble.”
- Pray against the outbreak of Mpox.
The World Health Organization warned the world last week of a “global public health
emergency” due to Mpox, formally known as monkeypox. An outbreak in the Democratic
Republic of Congo, which has killed hundreds, has spread into nearby nations. This
disease usually just causes flu-like symptoms, but can be fatal, as seen in DRC. Africa is
concerned with the spread of this disease. Pray that a treatment plan can be discovered
and pray for healing of infected people. Pray for the spread of this disease to stop and
give people wisdom on good hygiene practices.
Matthew 4:23 – “Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues,
preaching the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and
sickness among the people.”
- Pray for churches to remain open.
As churches begin to recover from Covid closures, some churches in the western United
States face closures due to high insurance costs. As building costs rise and with
extreme weather conditions causing damage, insurance premiums are skyrocketing.
Pray for church doors to remain open, for repair and insurance costs to be met, and for
people to turn out to worship, support, and appreciate their church homes.
Hebrews 10:25 – “Let us not neglect our church meetings, as some people do,
but encourage and warn each other, especially now that the day of his coming
back again is drawing near.”
Psalm 84:4 – “How happy are those who can live in your Temple, singing your
praises.”
Philippians 4:19 – “And my God will supply every need of yours according to his
riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
- Continue to pray for Israel.
Pray for Israel as they anticipate more attacks. Pray that Israel will be prepared but not
live in fear. Pray for all those living in Israel that do not know the Lord will come to
salvation through Jesus. Pray for peace.
Psalm 132:13-18 – “For the Lord has chosen Zion; he has desired it for his
dwelling; This is my resting place for ever and ever; here I will sit enthroned, for I
have desired it. I will bless her with abundant provisions; her poor will I satisfy
with food. I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints will ever sing for
joy. Here I will make a horn grow for David and set up a lamp for my anointed
one. I will clothe his enemies with shame, but the crown on his head will be
resplendent.”
Psalm 133:1 – “How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!”
Continue to pray peace over Israel and Ukraine and all countries in turmoil.
