- Pray for the released hostages.
As some of the hostages have been released by Hamas, this past week, pray for their physical and emotional healing. Pray for them to find peace in Jesus.
Jeremiah 30:17a – “But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds, declares the
Lord,”
Psalm 145:3 – “He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.”
Luke 9:11 – “…but the crowds learned about it and followed him. He welcomed them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God and healed those who needed healing.”
- Pray for protection of Ukrainian food supplies.
Ukraine’s food supply is threatened by Russian attacks. Per Worthy News, Pope Francis compared “Russia’s war in Ukraine to what he called the “terrible genocide” of the Stalin era.” In 1932 the Russian led Soviet Union, ruled by Joseph Stalin, had all grain and livestock confiscated which resulted in the starvation of millions of Ukrainians. Pray that history does not repeat itself.
Luke 11:3 – “Give us each day our daily bread.”
Psalm 37:27a – “Turn from evil and do good;”
- Pray for Christian persecution to end.
Worthy News reported “…at least ten Christians were murdered in Northeastern Nigeria last week.” Reports of persecuted Christians come in weekly from Nigeria, it is listed as number six on the World Watch for 2023. Pray for attacks on Christians to end; destruction of property, physical abuse, and murders to stop in Nigeria and around the globe. Send revival to Nigeria, let the persecutors turn from their wicked ways and embrace Jesus.
Psalm 61:1-3 – “Hear my cry, O God; listen to my prayer. From the ends of the earth, I
call to you, I call as my heart grows faint; lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For
you have been my refuge, a strong tower against the foe.”
- Pray for hope for cancer treatment.
Researchers at the University of Pennsylvania announced hope for some cancer patients. Lidocaine, a local anesthetic, “could play a significant role in successfully treating cancer.” They are not saying it is a cure but a possibility to improve treatment options. Pray for continued research to reveal positive results. Jesus is our great healer, but He gives wisdom to man, and we can rejoice when wisdom is used for the good of mankind.
Proverbs 4:5,6 – Get wisdom, get understanding; do not forget my words or swerve from them. Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will watch over you.”
James 1:5 – If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him.”
Continue to pray for Ukraine.
