- Pray for Persecuted Christians.
Worthy News reports, “Religious Rights Groups Outraged at Biden Administration’s Omission of Nigeria from its Annual List of Countries of Particular Concern.” (CPC) Since 2009, fifty-two thousand Christians have been slaughtered and five million displaced by Islamic jihadists. The United States has failed to designate Nigeria on its list of CPC for its egregious violations of religious freedom. Pray for Christian nations to support Christians that are being persecuted. Pray specifically for Nigeria as on January 3, forty-one Christians were killed, and numerous others kidnapped by suspected Islamic jihadists.
Matthew 5: 10-12 – “Blessed are those who have been persecuted for the sake of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are you when men cast insults at you, and persecute you, say all kinds of evil against you falsely, on account of Me. Rejoice and be glad, for our reward in heaven is great, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you.”
- Pray for those suffering natural disasters.
Pray for France, Germany, and the Netherlands as flooding occurs in these areas where thousands are without power, and the temperatures are cold. Finland and Sweden experienced snow and gusty winds with temperatures of minus 40 degrees Fahrenheit. Continue to pray for the people of Japan as the death toll reaches one hundred after last week’s earthquake.
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 – “Blessed by the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.”
- Pray for those who fight against evil.
Pray for Israel as tensions continue to escalate at the Lebanon border and attacks continue. Pray for Ukraine as President, Volodymyr Zelenskyy as he seeks needed help and support due to the Russian invasion twenty-two months ago.
Genesis 12:3 – “And I will bless those who bless you, and the one who curses you I will curse. And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
- Pray for an end to abortion, everywhere.
In Idaho, United States, the US Supreme allows “Near-Total Abortion Ban to proceed amid ongoing legal battle.” The Defense of Life Act would ban abortions “in all cases except where the life to the pregnant woman is at risk.” Anyone performing an abortion could spend up to five years in prison and health care professionals could lose their licenses. The Supreme court will make a final ruling in April after hearing the arguments. Pray that they will rule in favor of life.
Psalm 139:13-14 – “For Thou didst form my inward parts; Thou didst weave me in my mother’s womb. I will give thanks to Thee, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; wonderful are Thy works, and my soul knows it very well.”
Continue to pray for Ukraine.
