-          Pray for those affected by Hurricane Beryl.

Eleven people were killed as Hurricane Beryl blew across the Caribbean, Venezuela, and Jamaica this past week. It passed through the Yucatan Peninsula and Mexico beaches on Friday and is headed toward the Texas (United States) coast. Pray for those who have lost loved ones, homes, and/or property and pray for those who had to evacuate.

Isaiah 25:4a – “You have been a refuge for the poor, a refuge for the needy in his distress, a shelter from the storm and a shade from the heat.”

-          Continue to pray for those being persecuted in Nigeria.

Eight more Christians, including two children, were murdered by Fulani Terrorist the end of June and currently “jihadist terrorist are threatening to execute a pastor and his wife, whom they abducted in Borno state last year,” unless ramson demands are met. Pray for those of faith who are harassed, tortured, and killed. Pray for the hearts of terrorist to change in Nigeria, as it is rated number 6, out of fifty, of the World Watch List of Christian persecutions.

          Psalm 143:9 – “Rescue me from my enemies, O Lord, for I hide myself in you.”

2nd Corinthians 4:8-9 – “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair; persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.”

-          Pray against the Dengue Virus.

Ten million people have fallen ill this year due to the tropical disease, Dengue. Rising global temperature “have accelerated the life cycle and expanded the ranges of the mosquitoes that carry dengue.” A public health emergency was declared in Puerto Rico this spring and due to the lengthening warm season in tropical regions across Latin American, Africa, and Asia, the disease have turned into a year-round event, not just summer issue. It is expected to expand its range to include the southernmost portions of the United States. Currently there is no cure and in rare instances dengue can lead to death. Pray for those affected and pray for this disease to dry up.

Psalm 103:2-3 – “Praise the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your sins and heals all your diseases.”

James 5:16 – “Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective.”

-          Pray for Oklahoma (United States) schools.

Education Superintendent, Ryan Walters, ordered last week that “all public schools in the state to teach the Bible in grades 5 through12” and to implement it immediately. He said, “The Bible is an indispensable historical and cultural touchstone. Without basic knowledge of it, Oklahoma students are unable to properly contextualize the foundation of our nation which is why Oklahoma education standard provide for its instruction.”  Civil rights activists are in an uproar and are expected to challenge this order. Pray for Superintendent Walters to have courage, for Oklahoma schools, for our children, and for more schools to adopt this policy and bring God’s Word back into our schools.

Deuteronomy 11:18-19 – “Fix these words of mine in your hearts and minds; tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Deuteronomy 31:6 – “Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”

              Continue to pray peace over Israel and Ukraine and all countries in turmoil.
