• A shooting in Hamburg, Germany, this past week, left at least seven people dead and some seriously injured. The shootings occurred in a Jehovah’s Witness Kingdom Hall. Have compassion and pray for those who were injured and for those who lost loved ones.

Matthew 15:32a – “Jesus called his disciples to him and said, “I have compassion for these people;”

• Two cases of Christians being targeted by Russian authorities for their faith-based opposition to the war in Ukraine appeared in Worthy News this past week. Pray for Christians being targeted and persecuted around the world. Pray for those who are persecuted and for those who persecute.

Matthew 5:44 – “But I tell you: Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you,”

• Pray for churches and their leaders as congregations become divided over same-sex marriage, transgender issues, abortion, and more. Many hundreds of conservative congregations have left the United Methodist Church as “progressive denomination leaders began to refuse to abide by the Book’s stance.” (Worthy News) Pray for church leaders to know and preach God’s Word. May they love their neighbors but remain obedient to God’s instructions. Review what Paul has to say in the letter to Titus about leaders.

Titus 1:9 – “He (appointed elders) must hold firmly to the trustworthy message as it has been taught, so that he can encourage others by sound doctrine and refute those who oppose it.”

Acts 20:28 – “Keep watch over yourselves and all the flock of which the Holy Spirit has made you overseers. Be shepherds of the church of God, which he bought with his own blood.”

• The crowds and the media may have moved out of Asbury University but continue to pray as the Revival Fires continue to burn throughout the country. Many college and university campuses are finding young people worshiping, giving testimonies, and being baptized. Pray for continued Revival in our youth, our homes, our churches, communities, and nations.

2 Chronicles 7:14 – “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

• Pray for Pastor Jerry as he is in Zambia and there will be a ministers conference at Sons of Thunder during his time there. Pray that the Holy Spirit will be present and for the 500 preachers that will be attending and that they will become equipped to lead people to receive Jesus as their personal Savior.

Mark 16:15 – “He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation.”
