- Praise God for U.S. astronauts home safe.
Sunita Williams and Barry Wilmore returned home safe after a few days trip into space turned into nine months. As we lift our prayers to God, let us not forget to lift our praises.
Psalm18:30,31 – “As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is flawless. He is a shield for all who take refuge in him. For who is God besides the Lord? And who is the Rock except our God?”
- Pray for Christians in Nigeria.
Per Worthy News, “the U.S. House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on Africa has urged that Nigeria be reinstated as a country of particular concern and face sanctions due to widespread Christian persecution.” Nigeria was previously removed from this list and lawmakers “strongly rebuked the Nigerian government for its failure to protect Christian communities from escalating violence,” which have been noted by human rights groups. A 2024 report indicated that “Nigeria accounts for 90%of the global Christian deaths.” Pray for Christians to remain strong and for the persecutions to end.
Isaiah 40:31 – “But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary; they will walk and not be faint.”
Psalm 7:10, 11a,14-16 – “My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart. God is a righteous judge. He who is pregnant with evil and conceives trouble gives birth to disillusionment. He who digs a hole and scoops it out falls into the pit he has made. The trouble he causes recoils on himself; his violence comes down on his own head.”
- Pray for Macedonia.
Pray for those who lost loved ones and those who were injured in a night club fire in North Macedonia. Fifty-nine people lost their lives and approximately one hundred fifty-five people were injured. The facility was packed with about 1,500 young people attending a live concert. Pray for God’s comfort to surround these people and pray it will draw them to Jesus.
Matthew 5:4 – “Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted.”
Ezekiel 18:23 – “Do I take any pleasure in the death of the wicked? Declares the Sovereign Lord. Rather, am I not pleased when they turn from their ways and live?”
- Pray for the education system in the United States.
President Trump dismantled the U.S. Department of Education as the U.S. spends more money than any other country on education, “but yet, we rank near the bottom of the list in terms of success.” Supporters say, “Returning education to states, local government, and parents, rather than mandating a one-size-fits all approach” is a better fit for childhood education. Pray that our education system in each state will improve and that children will learn the necessary life skills and truth. Pray also for the U.S. Supreme Court hearing, where parents, representing various faiths to include Christianity, Islam, and Judaism, want the school district in Montgomery County, Maryland, to remove LGBTQ themed storybooks from pre-school and elementary school classrooms. These books conflict with various religious beliefs and at a minimum parents wish to have their children opt out of classes utilizing these materials, which the school district does not currently allow.
Proverbs 22:6 – “Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not turn from it.”
Isaiah 5:20 – “Woe to those who call evil good and good evil, who put darkness for light and light for darkness, who put bitter for sweet and sweet for bitter.”
Ezekiel 18: 20b – “The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him, and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him.”
- Pray for Revival in Livingston, Zambia.
Pray for Sons of Thunder as they plan another Crusade in Levingston. There will be revival meetings, children’s ministry, training in evangelism, and preaching of the gospel. Pray for a successful and safe trip for the team and for a bountiful harvest.
John 4:35 – “The fields are white unto harvest. Pray that the Lord of the harvest will send workers into the harvest field.”
Acts 1:8 – “But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
- Continue prayers for peace in Ukraine, Russia, and Israel.
