“Onward Christian soldiers! Marching as to war, With the cross of Jesus Going on before. Christ, the royal Master, Leads against the foe; Forward into battle, See his banners go! Onward Christian soldiers…” (Hymn by Sabine Baring-Gould). “Put on the Whole Armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” (Ephesians 6:11-12, KJV). We are at war, we need to put on the full armor of God and March Onward and pray, see Ephesians 6:13-18. In ‘A Treasury of Wisdom –
A Daily Devotional Journal’, Ken Abraham writes the following:
“We are at war with evil, a personal evil, a supernational evil, spearheaded by Satan himself. The devil is not some funny looking cartoon character with horns sticking out of his head, dressed in red leotards, and carrying a pitchfork. No, the devil is real, and he is your enemy. He has sent his demonic messengers into the world to stand against you and do all they can to keep you from being the person God wants you to be. The war is raging in cities and towns all across the land. Furthermore, the battle is not restricted to what we might be tempted to refer to as “the devil’s playgrounds” – bars, adult bookstores, and sorcery shops. The war has moved inside the door of your church, school, and home.”
He goes on to say that “God is calling us out of our complacency to become warriors for Christ.” This book was given to my mother in 1997, at least 25 years ago, but the words ring true today as war moves inside our churches, where Gay Pride flags fly and some have become pro-abortion. The churches are doing more than accepting the sinner, they are accepting the sin that goes against God’s word.
The war is moving into our schools as we mourn the loss of 19 children from Robb Elementary School in Uvalde, Texas and where schools are teaching all ages about the LGBTQ agenda, blatantly against God’s word, changing history, and teaching the Critical Race Theory. Many homes, including Christian homes, are at war due to divorce, depression, and substance abuse. And the war rages throughout our communities as we also continue to mourn for Buffalo, NY where 10 shoppers were killed due to a suspected hate crime.
Some health care providers continue to support and perform abortions so lets continue prayer for the overturn of Roe v. Wade and pray that Samuel Alito, Brett Kavanaugh, Clarence Thomas, Neil Gorsuch, and Amy Coney Barret stand firm on their convictions for life and the John Roberts will choose life. Pray protection over these Supreme Court Justices and over their families and their positions.
War also runs rampant in our government, at all levels, as many elected and/or appointed officials do not follow, know, or care about God’s word. So, gear up and as Kay Arthur writes in ‘A Treasury of Wisdom – A Daily Devotional Journal’, “As you read this description of the Christian’s armor you soon realize that it only covers the front of the soldier! It allows for full protection as long as you don’t turn your back! God never sounds retreat, nor do you ever have to wave the flag of surrender. Why? Because the soldier of Christ has the ultimate of weapons. It is the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God.” She goes on to say, “The shield of faith is that by which you ward off Satan’s attack upon you, but the Sword, the Word of God, is for conquering, for defeating the foe!” Pick up your Sword, the word of God and March Onward Christian soldier and Pray.
Pray for the families of Uvalde, Texas for comfort and healing after this horrific tragedy. Continue to pray for the overturn of Roe v. Wade. Pray for unity in our churches. Pray for Ukraine. Read and know God’s Word and take your sword into the battle and declare victory in Jesus’ name.
